Easy Roasted Edamame


  • 1 (12 oz.) package of frozen edamame pods (soybeans) 
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • Spicy option: sprinkling of chili powder or red pepper flakes


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. 
  2. Toss edamame along with olive oil, garlic, sea salt and pepper in a large bowl until the edamame is well coated. Spread the edamame on a baking sheet in a single layer. 
  3. Spicy option: Sprinkle chili powder or red pepper flakes lightly in this mix, if desired. 
  4. Roast the edamame in the oven, stirring after 10 minutes. Continue roasting another 10 minutes until the edamame shells start to brown. 
  5. Remove from oven and serve the edamame whole, popping the beans out of the shell to eat.
