Hleb Davydzenkau, MD

Family Medicine

Hleb (Gleb) Davydzenkau, MD, is a Family Medicine physician at Think Whole Person Healthcare, offering a global perspective shaped by his upbringing. Born in Grodno, Belarus, he spent his early years on his grandparents’ farm before immigrating to the U.S. in 2007. He is a graduate of Westside High School and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Dr. Davydzenkau earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean, completed clinical rotations across the globe, and completed his residency in the UNMC Family Medicine Rural Track.

Dr. Davydzenkau’s dedication to medicine began in childhood, as he watched his physician grandparents and mother care for patients, often for free, in Belarus. This early exposure, combined with his own experience as an immigrant, fueled his commitment to family medicine. He is driven to address both the physical and emotional needs of his patients, helping them achieve healthier, happier lives. He also focuses on helping patients with metabolic syndrome, obesity, anxiety, and depression.

Dr. Davydzenkau practices Whole Person Healthcare, meaning he addresses the physical, emotional, social, and environmental factors that affect health, not just specific medical conditions. He believes prevention is key, sharing the wisdom that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” He encourages regular check-ups, screenings, and vaccinations to find issues early and promote long-term well-being.

Hleb joined think because its holistic, integrated approach aligns with his commitment to treating patients as whole individuals. He values Think’s philosophy of integrating various services to enhance patient well-being and is inspired by the opportunity to contribute to a team that prioritizes comprehensive care, especially for those facing metabolic and mental health challenges.

Patients would describe Dr. Davydzenkau as caring, approachable, and a provider who makes them feel heard and supported. A defining moment was successfully helping a skeptical patient to undergo a screening colonoscopy at age 57, which led to the early detection and cure of colon cancer. This outcome solidified his belief in the power of building trusting patient relationships.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Davydzenkau is an avid adventurer. He maintains fitness through weightlifting and running, and enjoys downhill skateboarding, snowboarding, scuba diving, cooking, hiking, and climbing. He cherishes childhood memories of working on his grandparents’ farm. If time and money were not a factor, he dreams of a snowboarding trip to Japan or a scuba diving adventure in the Galapagos Islands.
