Dawn Tostenson, LIMHP
Behavioral Health
Dawn Tostenson is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner who brings warmth and experience to her work. With more than seven years of clinical experience, she specializes in trauma recovery, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Her sessions are a space for healing, reflection, and growth.
Dawn earned dual master’s degrees in Clinical Counseling and Human Services from Bellevue University. Born and raised in Omaha, she has spent her career supporting diverse populations, drawing from a broad foundation of trauma-informed care. She uses a wide range of evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), emotional freedom techniques (EFT), Brainspotting, and mindfulness.
Much of Dawn’s perspective is shaped by her early work with survivors of domestic violence and individuals experiencing homelessness. These experiences taught her the importance of helping people feel safe, seen, and heard, especially when they’ve spent years simply surviving. One story that continues to stand out is a young adult who arrived in her care feeling hopeless after a traumatic event. Over time, she witnessed that person slowly rebuild their sense of self, grow in confidence, and reclaim their voice.
Dawn joined think because she wanted to be part of a healthcare model that truly puts people first. She was drawn to think’s belief in empathy, innovation, and treating the whole person, not just a diagnosis. For her, being part of this team is about more than a job. It’s about contributing to a mission that challenges old systems and builds something better for patients and providers alike.
Outside of work, Dawn enjoys visiting art museums, attending concerts, and exploring new places. She also loves quiet mornings with coffee and deep conversations with friends and family.
