Basma Basma, DO

Family Medicine

Accepting New Patients

Basma Basma, D.O., is a family medicine doctor with special interests in chronic disease management, preventive care, obesity medicine, and osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM). She was born in Cairo, Egypt, and moved to Omaha when she was six. The Omaha community welcomed her family and quickly made them feel at home. Basma earned a BS in Neuroscience from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, a Master of Health Science from West Virginia University, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Morristown Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident.

Basma always knew she wanted to help people. As she got older, she realized that connecting with others and building trust were some of her biggest strengths. Medicine was a natural way for her to combine her love of science with her desire to serve others. Building relationships with patients is still one of the most rewarding parts of her job as a family doctor.

Whole Person Healthcare means caring for each person, not just treating a diagnosis. As an osteopathic doctor, Basma believes that physical health is closely tied to mental, emotional, and social well-being. She sees every patient as having a unique story, and understanding that story is just as important as knowing their medical history. Basma is passionate about being proactive, helping prevent disease before it starts through chronic disease management, nutrition, movement, and supporting patients’ health goals. Her advice: small, steady changes often make a bigger difference than big, short-lived ones. You don’t have to be perfect to improve your health.

Think has always been important in Basma’s career. She worked there as a medical scribe when the clinic first opened and saw how valuable it was to have primary care, specialists, imaging, lab services, and other resources all in one place. After residency, she wanted to work somewhere that truly supports comprehensive, patient-centered, and accessible care focused on the whole person. Coming back as a doctor feels like coming full circle. During her residency, she also won First Place in Original Research at the ACOFP National Conference for a project that improved diabetic retinopathy screening rates in primary care.

Patients say Basma takes time to listen, truly cares, and goes the extra mile to help them with their healthcare. She wants every patient to feel heard, respected, supported, and involved in their care. One relationship that still shapes her was with her first continuity patient in residency, a woman with several complex conditions whom Basma cared for over three years. She helped coordinate specialists, guided tough decisions, and supported the patient and her husband through the move to palliative care and hospice. That experience showed her what family medicine is all about: lifelong relationships, coordinated care, and being there for patients at every stage of life.

In her free time, Basma enjoys traveling, reading fiction, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Because she has moved often over the past decade, many of her closest friends now live across the country. She uses vacations to reconnect with them, especially if there is a beach or hiking trail nearby. If she could go anywhere, she would travel through the Balkan countries to experience their history, culture, and scenery.

Internal Medicine

Accepting New Patients

Adam Vossen, MD, is an internal medicine doctor. He grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and earned his biology degree with a chemistry minor from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2001. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005. After finishing his residency in Michigan, the Air Force brought his family to Nebraska. They quickly felt at home and decided to stay after his military service.

Adam knew he wanted to work in healthcare since high school. As a freshman, he met an orthopedic surgeon whose compassion and attention made a big impact on him. That experience inspired him to pursue medicine, guiding him through school, residency, military service, and now his practice in Nebraska.

For Adam, Whole Person Healthcare means seeing each patient as an individual and caring for every part of their health, not just their medical conditions. He enjoys helping people improve their quality of life and manage chronic illnesses by looking at the bigger picture. Adam believes that while medical care is important, the best results happen when patients also take an active role in their own health. He is passionate about working with patients to reach their goals and using his experience to guide them through chronic illness.

“What Whole Person Healthcare means to me is that we are taking the right approach to care, which is to truly care for the individuals that we serve by treating them as the people they are and supporting all aspects of their health.”

Adam chose Think because it gives him the chance to provide the kind of care he values, with the right resources for patients. This approach lets him build long-term relationships instead of just treating one problem at a time.

Patients describe Adam as compassionate, a good listener, and someone who helps them reach their health goals. What matters most to him are the long-term relationships he builds, seeing people improve their health and quality of life through their shared efforts.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and dogs. He likes going to his kids’ activities and having date nights with his wife. He is a big fan of Minnesota’s professional teams and Gopher football. Some of his favorite childhood memories are celebrating the Twins’ World Series wins in 1987 and 1991 with loved ones. If he could, he would love to take his family to Hawaii.

LaTraia Landrum, MD

Family Medicine

Accepting New Patients

LaTraia Landrum, MD, is a board-certified family and sports medicine doctor. She also holds certification in aerospace medicine. She was born in Bellevue, Nebraska, and grew up in a military family, calling Colorado Springs home. She earned her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University and completed her family medicine residency at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. Dr. Landrum served as a physician in the Air Force for 13 years.

LaTraia knew she wanted to be a doctor from a young age. When she was five, her younger sister was diagnosed with a rare cancer, and their family spent weeks at a Fisher House in California while doctors worked to help her. The hospital quickly became a familiar place. Against the odds, her sister recovered and is now thriving in her thirties. By the time LaTraia was nine, she had decided to become a physician—someone who never gives up and brings hope to difficult situations. She has followed that path ever since.

To LaTraia, Whole Person Healthcare means seeing you as more than just a diagnosis. You are a person with a full life, and the goal is to support your mind, body, and spirit so you can enjoy it. LaTraia looks at the whole picture, including musculoskeletal care, weight management, nutrition, chronic pain, exercise, athletic and austere medicine, prevention, and chronic illness, because every part of the body is connected. Her advice: never leave the clinic feeling uncomfortable or misunderstood. Speak up, share how you feel, and make sure your provider understands what matters most to you.

When LaTraia first saw the name Think Whole Person Healthcare, she smiled. It matched the kind of care she believes every patient deserves. She wants to work in a place where every part of a person is valued, and where healing starts by caring for the whole person. Being there for patients through all of life’s moments—special, tough, scary, and joyful—and helping them build a plan that truly fits their needs is what inspires her.

Patients often say LaTraia is a good listener who makes them feel heard and cared for. One evening, after the clinic had closed, she was running late for her last virtual visit and almost didn’t make the call. The patient was in a mental health crisis, and if she hadn’t called, he might have been in serious danger. They talked, adjusted his medications, and connected him with mental health support. For her, it was just another slot on a busy schedule, but for him, it made all the difference. Over the years, she watched him grow and improve. That experience showed her how important every appointment can be.

LaTraia is married with three children and another baby on the way. Being a mom is what she loves most. She enjoys playing with her kids, mountain biking, archery, exercising, cooking, and taking family trips to zoos, farms, and botanical gardens. Some of her favorite childhood memories are running cross-country through Garden of the Gods and spending years on the track team. If she could go anywhere, she has always dreamed of visiting New Zealand.

A Doctor of Internal Medicine here at Think, Dr. Timothy Crnkovich enjoys having the opportunity to help someone in a time of need. He has wanted to work in Medicine since high school, where he was inspired by his personal physician.

He has been inspired throughout his career by many of his patients and their individual journeys. What he loves about working at Think is the ability to provide high-quality care in a timely fashion. If asked, he hopes his patients would feel that he establishes a rapport with good interpersonal relationships, and that they have a two-way conversation marked by mutual respect and a little humor and wit.

When he isn’t working, Dr. Crnkovich enjoys sharing good food and fellowship with the people he is close to.

Internal Medicine

Accepting New Patients

Dr. Steven Zuber is a Doctor of Internal Medicine at think. He likes taking care of people with chronic illnesses and making their overall quality of life better, as well as reducing their risk of future complications. He enjoys forming long-term relationships with those that he treats.

From a very young age, he has been interested in helping people, and also found a great interest in science. Primary care medicine is the perfect career that lets him combine both of these passions. Watching a close family member with heart disease be saved, and live for many more years, had a great impact on him.

What he loves about think is the team approach to quality care, and the freedom to concentrate on the person, not their medical problems, in order to form a great partnership moving forward. He hopes his patients see that he spends time explaining things to them, and that while he gives his best recommendations, they make decisions together.

Dr. Zuber loves exercising, being on the water, and spending time with family. He would love to spend time in different countries offering his skills to the less fortunate, but at the same time learning about their country and their culture.

Internal Medicine

Dr. Robert Recker is a dedicated Doctor of Internal Medicine and the Chief Medical Officer at Think Whole Person Healthcare. With over 26 years of experience in Internal Medicine, Dr. Recker is committed to providing comprehensive care to his patients.

Dr. Recker completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1997 and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Recker’s father, Robert Recker Sr., is a renowned researcher in bone mineral density and nutrition, which has influenced Dr. Recker’s interest in medicine and osteoporosis among other conditions.

He values think‘s holistic approach to healthcare, offering various services under one roof. He is passionate about improving the quality of care and ensuring his patients receive the best possible treatment. His decision to join think was driven by the opportunity to remain an independent practitioner while being part of a value-based, primary care-focused practice. He appreciates the innovative and patient-centered approach at think, which contrasts with the more specialist-driven focus of larger healthcare systems.

In his role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Recker works with leadership to analyze data, develop protocols, and improve healthcare programs. He also acts as a liaison between providers and administration, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Dr. Recker emphasizes the importance of primary care in preventing health crises and managing chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, coronary disease, and osteoporosis. He also feels passionate about the importance of early detection and risk reduction, such as through CT scoring for cardiovascular disease, to improve his patients’ outcomes.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Recker enjoys engaging in sports, exercise, reading, and home projects. He finds fulfillment in walking alongside his patients on their journey to better health.

Melanie Kim, DO

Family Medicine

Accepting New Patients

Melanie Kim, DO, is a Family Medicine physician providing compassionate, patient-centered care at Think Whole Person Healthcare. Originally from LaSalle, Illinois, where she enjoyed the charm of rural living just 1.5 hours from Chicago, Melanie graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Medical Anthropology and a minor in Biology. She worked as a medical scribe at think when it first opened, spent a year at a meditation nonprofit and center for contemplative activism, then pursued her medical education at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by residency at CoxHealth in Springfield, Missouri. As the third Dr. Kim in her family, Melanie brings a deep-rooted passion for medicine, with specialized interests in chronic disease management, lifestyle medicine, integrative medicine, and hands-on osteopathic techniques.

Growing up in a family of physicians, Melanie knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a healthcare career, initially inspired by the idea of serving abroad with organizations like Doctors Without Borders. However, her perspective shifted as she recognized significant healthcare disparities closer to home, prompting her to focus on reducing barriers to quality care, particularly for refugee and immigrant communities and young women who often feel misunderstood by traditional medicine. Her early experiences as a scribe at think and her time at a meditation nonprofit reinforced her commitment to holistic, accessible care, shaping her journey to becoming a physician who empowers overlooked populations.

Whole Person Healthcare, to Melanie, means recognizing patients as complex individuals with rich, multifaceted lives beyond their medical charts. She views her role as an advisor who empowers patients to take charge of their health, respecting their autonomy to choose which changes align with their lives. By integrating chronic disease management, lifestyle medicine, and osteopathic approaches, Melanie fosters a deep understanding of her patients’ needs, prioritizing their desires and empowering them to live to their fullest potential.

Dr. Kim rejoined Think Whole Person Healthcare because its mission to reduce healthcare costs and deliver extraordinary, team-based care resonates deeply with her vision of making healthcare a human right. Melanie is passionate about think’s ability to simplify a complex healthcare system, particularly for underserved communities, and she is excited to contribute to its collaborative, patient-focused model.

Patients describe Melanie as kind, understanding, and an exceptional listener who prioritizes their preferences in their healthcare journey. She recalls an experience during her training involving a middle-aged woman with joint pain who initially resisted medication.

“She complained of joint pain and a very busy life, working multiple jobs and living with her daughter and grandchildren. I initially assumed she was seeking medication for her pain, but was met with hostile resistance by the patient. Over the next few visits, I came to understand that she was not seeking pain meds at all, instead wanting a more natural approach to her discomfort. Her priority was keeping her medication list as short as possible while being able to function comfortably in her busy life. By understanding this, I was able to take much better care of her, and we came to have a beautiful, empowering relationship over the next few years. She taught me not to assume I know what patients need before they tell me, and to let them be in the driver’s seat when it comes to their health.”

Through the interaction with the patient, Melanie learned early in her training to avoid assumptions and let patients guide their care, fostering a trusting, empowering relationship that shaped her approach to putting patients in the driver’s seat.

Outside of medicine, Melanie stays active with Orange Theory classes, walks, and yoga, while nurturing her love for houseplants, gardening (as a self-proclaimed newbie), and baking sourdough. She enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and engaging in her community, with plans to start a local chapter of Walk with a Doc to promote health and connection through walking. If time, money, and ability were no barriers, Dr. Kim dreams of visiting Thailand and taking heritage trips to South Korea, Switzerland, and Ireland to explore her and her husband’s cultural roots.
