Behavioral Health
Russell Rosenquist, LICSW, is a social work counselor passionate about helping people overcome mental health challenges and build fulfilling lives. He is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha and has additional degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration.
Born and raised on a farm near Shickley, Nebraska, he brings a grounded perspective to his work, shaped by fond memories of farm life, swimming in the pond, and riding motorcycles. With over 30 years of counseling and mental health experience, Russell earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, followed by a Master of Social Work and Master of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha, and a Master of Business Administration from Bellevue University.
He realized his interest in mental health counseling during his undergraduate studies at UNL, where he transferred to UNO’s School of Social Work. His career spans diverse roles, including 11 years as a counselor and trainer with the United States Postal Service Employee Assistance Program, four years as a skilled nursing home administrator across Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska, and time as a clinical treatment coordinator in Yankton, South Dakota. He’s also worked as an inpatient chemical dependency counselor at Midlands Hospital.
To Russell, Whole Person Healthcare means addressing both physical and emotional wellness, and he’s motivated by a sincere desire to make a difference—believing patients would describe him as caring and committed. His pearl of wisdom? “You are not alone in your struggles.”
Married for 33 years with two adult children, Russell finds joy outside work as an amateur radio operator (licensed since 1980), connecting with people worldwide from home. He’s inspired by stories of resilience, like helping an alcoholic overcome addiction, depression, and suicidal thoughts to thrive in family and business. If time and resources were no limit, he’d visit Australia, but for now, he’s focused on empowering patients at think to find satisfaction and strength.
