Kimberly Joshi, PA-C
ThinkQuick Walk-in Clinic
Kim Joshi, PA-C, ND, is a physician assistant and naturopathic doctor with 22 years of experience in toxicology, urgent and primary care, functional medicine, pediatric neurology, and, most recently, allergy, asthma, and immunology at Boys Town, where she still works part-time. She grew up in Alliance, Nebraska, and ran track and cross country there. Kim earned a Bachelor of Science with high distinction in Psychology, with minors in biology and chemistry, from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the 1990s, when the Huskers were back-to-back national champions. She finished naturopathic medical school at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University) in Tempe, Arizona, after studying naturopathic medicine and midwifery at Bastyr University in Seattle. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2003.
After graduating from UNL, Kim was unsure about her career direction. An aptitude test led her to naturopathic medicine, which matched her belief that human health is closely connected to the health of the planet and that nature should be part of healthcare and well-being. Since she expected to live in a state that did not license naturopathic doctors, she also trained as a physician assistant at UNMC so she could practice fully wherever she lived. This dual path has guided her work for over twenty years, covering acute care, functional medicine, and specialty areas.
Kim’s approach is based on naturopathic and functional medicine. She believes the body, environment, lifestyle, and natural systems are all connected, and that care is most effective when these connections are respected. She brings this perspective to both primary and specialty care, whether she is treating toxicity, chronic conditions, pediatric neurology, or allergy, asthma, and immunology. Her goal is to treat the whole person, not just symptoms, and to make nature and prevention part of daily health.
Her training as both a PA and ND, along with years of experience in conventional and functional medicine, supports an integrated approach that considers physical, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Working with other specialists in a coordinated way allows patients to get comprehensive care that includes the connections between body, environment, and daily life.
Patients meet a clinician who has worked in many settings and with all age groups, from urgent and primary care to pediatric neurology and allergy/immunology. She combines conventional training with a naturopathic focus on root causes, prevention, and the role of nature in healing. This broad experience helps people who need both immediate solutions and long-term wellness.
Kim enjoys running, swimming, and spending time outdoors. She and her husband travel to visit three of their four adult children who live out of state, and one who lives abroad. She likes watching her youngest play soccer and plans to follow him to college next year, when she and her husband will become empty nesters with their rescue German Shepherd, Hazel. Kim also loves traveling overseas, learning about history and other cultures, and trying new foods.
