Holly Eckhart, PMHNP-BC
Behavioral Health
Holly Eckhart, MSN, APRN-CNM, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who focuses on Behavioral Health at Think Whole Person Healthcare. She grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, spending her childhood exploring American history on trips to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, and enjoying time at the Jersey Shore. Holly received her Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery and a post-Master’s Certificate as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Frontier Nursing University.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, Holly started a Master’s program in Public Health focused on Global Health. She soon realized she wanted a more direct, hands-on role in caring for people, not just planning and policy work. This inspired her to become a nurse, first as a Certified Nurse-Midwife and later as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Today, she provides general psychiatric care for children, men, and women, with special interests in women’s health, perinatal mental health, and supporting vulnerable populations.
For Holly, Whole Person Healthcare means caring for each person as a whole, considering their life circumstances and what she calls “the rest of the story.” She shares, “Whole Person Healthcare means everything to me! Integrated care provides the best chance for achieving optimal health.” She looks at barriers to care, available resources, support systems, lifestyle, and social factors when working with patients. Her approach is based on empathy and empowerment. She works as a teammate with her patients, helps them see they deserve good health and healing, and believes that symptom remission is possible. Holly focuses on practical, personalized care that fits each person’s real life and brings deep compassion, global perspective, and a genuine commitment to whole-person healing to every patient she serves.
Holly chose think because its integrated, team-based approach matches the vision she developed during her years in global health. She is inspired by how think brings different specialties together, offers many services in one place, and provides ongoing follow-up care. This is something she hoped for while running mobile clinics in places with limited resources. Holly values being part of a team that can meet all of a patient’s needs, instead of offering care that feels disconnected.
Patients say Holly is empathetic, kind, and a great listener who helps them feel heard and supported. She works to empower each person to see their own potential for healing and reminds them they deserve good health, love, kindness, and a better quality of life. Her collaborative, patient-centered approach helps people feel like true partners in their journey to wellness.
Outside of work, Holly enjoys reading and traveling, especially to places with mountains or beaches. She has spent a lot of time in Haiti, where she helped set up eye and primary care clinics and still returns often to visit friends and volunteer. Holly cares deeply about global service and building connections across cultures. If she could go anywhere, she would love to visit Ireland, Scotland, Italy, and Indonesia.
