Meghan Herek, LIMHP, LICSW Mental Health Therapist
I have been a social worker for 15 years. Even before that, I consistently chose to work in some sort of helping profession. I have always wanted to be a therapist and when my life finally allowed me to attend graduate school, I jumped right on board! I have a Master of Social Work from University of Nebraska at Omaha. My certification also includes an independent license to practice mental health in Nebraska (LIMHP). You will find my name scattered among boards and community planning groups all over Omaha. I am passionate about people and my community!
I specialize in working with people who are suffering from depression and anxiety and many other conditions. Sometimes it can feel like “stress” or “I just don’t like to go out much” or “I’m just a worry wart.” We, as a society, have come up with lots of words to describe our mental health distress. I believe that there is a strong connection between our mind and our physical/medical health. They work together. And if one can improve, the other can improve along with it.
I see a wide variety of patients beginning at age 13. I work well with people who might be hesitant that therapy will work for them. I am comfortable working with distress in marriage and struggles among family members. I also have worked with those battling severe and persistent mental health conditions.
I feel honored and motivated to work with the doctors and patients at Think. I think that wholeperson treatment is the ONLY way to treat. I’m looking forward to building a relationship with you!
